Review of real-time vehicle schedule recovery methods in transportation services

چکیده
This paper presents a comprehensive review on methods for real-time schedule recovery in transportation services. The survey concentrates on published research on recovery of planned schedules in the occurrence of one or several severe disruptions such as vehicle breakdowns, accidents, and delays. Only vehicle assignment and rescheduling are reviewed; crew scheduling and passenger logistics problems during disruptions are not. Real-time vehicle schedule recovery problems (RTVSRP) are classified into three classes: vehicle rescheduling, for road-based services, trainbased rescheduling, and airline schedule recovery problems. For each class, a classification of the models is presented based on problem formulations and solution strategies. The paper concludes that RTVSRP is a challenging problem that requires quick and good quality solutions to very difficult and complex situations, involving several different contexts, restrictions, and objectives. The paper also identifies research gaps to be investigated in the future, stimulating research in this area. M. S. Visentini · D. An Improved Hybrid Cuckoo Search Algorithm for Vehicle Routing Problem with Time Windows
Transportation in economic systems such as services, production and distribution enjoys a special and important position and provides a significant portion of the country's gross domestic product. Improvements in transportation system mean improvements in the traveling routes and the elimination of unnecessary distances in any system. The Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP) is one of the practical co...
متن کاملLiterature Review of Traffic Assignment: Static and Dynamic
Rapid urban growth is resulting into increase in travel demand and private vehicle ownership in urban areas. In the present scenario the existing infrastructure has failed to match the demand that leads to traffic congestion, vehicular pollution and accidents. With traffic congestion augmentation on the road, delay of commuters has increased and reliability of road network has decreased. Four s...
متن کاملDevelopment of Model and Algorithm for Depot Balancing Multi-Depot Vehicle Scheduling Problem Considering Depot Balancing
The main of multi-depot vehicle scheduling problem (MDVSP) is to schedule the timetabled trips using limited resources, optimally. The problem is very important in the management of the transportation systems. One of the most useful ways to better manage these systems is to consider the real conditions including depot balancing constraints. To normalize the number of vehicles departed from each...
متن کاملConstrained Controller Design for Real-time Delay Recovery in Metro Systems
This study is concerned with the real-time delay recovery problem in metro loop lines. Metro is the backbone of public transportation system in large cities. A discrete event model for traffic system of metro loop lines is derived and presented. Two effective automatic controllers, linear quadratic regulator (LQR) and model predictive controller (MPC), are used to recover train delays. A newly-...
متن کاملEmergency medical services use for trauma patient transportation to hospital
abstract Introduction: An effort is being made to reduce pre-hospital emergency missions as much as possible without any harm to people and reduce the quality of services. This can be achieved by determining some characters and conditions of patients with their need for emergency services. The purpose of the present study was to determine the rate of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) use for t...
